The Cape Fear River Watch Raindrop Journey program for Fourth Grade students promotes environmental stewardship by teaching participants what a watershed is and how to reduce stormwater pollution in urban, suburban, and rural areas.
The Program includes pre- and post-visit activities in the classroom, and field activities at Greenfield Lake. Field activities include the Raindrop Journey Game (a FUN, physical activity), a walking eco-tour of Greenfield Lake, and field observations from paddle boats.
The field trip fulfills the 4th grade science curriculum – Ecosystems 4.L.1, Essential Standard – “Understand the effects of environmental changes, adaptations and behaviors that enable animals (including humans) to survive in changing habitats.”
Cost for the program is:
$5 per student for the classroom activities and the field activities at the lake.
$3 per student for the field activities at the lake only.
